Discover the Sandy Shores of South Carolina
Day One
Fly into the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and drive to Hilton Head Island. (travel time 45-minutes)
Spend the afternoon on one of the island's golf courses, tennis facilities, or takea professionally guided tour to trace the island's antebellum roots and the role Hilton Head played in the Civil War
In the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise or choose from one of the many seafood restaurants on the island.
Day Two
Drive Highway 278 to 170 then 21 to Hunting Island State Park. (travel time 1 hour)
Spend the afternoon with a guided tour of the island, or swimming in the surf, or just enjoying the natural beauty of Hunting Islands beach.
Spend the evening camping in the park, or rent one of the oceanfront condos at nearby resorts.
Day Three
Drive north on Highway 17 and then take Highway 174 to Edisto Island. (travel time 1 ½ hours)
Spend the afternoon crabbing or canoeing the Edisto River (please see Outdoor Adventure section).
In the evening stay on the island at Edisto State Park or enjoy a room at a local Island resort.
Day Four
Drive north on Highway 17 to the resort islands of Kiawah, Seabrook or Wild Dunes near Charleston. (travel time 30 minutes to 1 hour)
Spend an afternoon enjoying the fine amenities of these upscale resorts, or enjoy guided tours of the coastal marshlands by resort naturalists.
For an evening of culture take a drive into the historic city of Charleston.
Day Five
Continue to drive north on Highway 17 to Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand. (travel time 2 hours)
Charter a boat along the fine beaches of the Grand Strand for an afternoon of deep sea fishing, sail boating or just relaxing on the South Carolina beaches.
Enjoy an evening full of activities by having dinner at one of the many restaurants in Myrtle Beach followed by a live show.
