The Dish
Adam Richman of Man v. Food fame on the Travel Channel keeps coming back to Charleston. He’s been to Bowen’s Island Restaurant near Folly Beach to shuck some local oysters (he even harvested some tasty bivalves), Charleston City Market for Lowcountry and Gullah ingredients, Charleston’s Bushido Japanese Restaurant for a spicy-tuna-roll challenge and the Holy City’s beloved Hominy Grill for Chef Robert Stehling’s Big Nasty Biscuit (fried chicken breast, cheddar and sausage gravy).
But it’s Food Network superstar Guy Fieri who has the softest spot for South Carolina. Fieri’s first-ever
Diners, Drive-ins and Dives was filmed in Spartanburg at the
Beacon Drive-in (home of Chili Cheese A-Plenty that has to be seen—and ingested—to be believed). Over the years, Fieri has been sampling SC favorites.
