The Upstate is home to some of the country’s most talented visionaries working in the culinary arts, and together they have made South Carolina’s mountain region a fine dining hot spot.  Many have garnered critical acclaim, including The Lazy Goat’s Executive Chef, Vicky Ann Moore who was named Esquire Magazine, “Breakout Chefs to Watch” in 2009.

These top chefs add an innovative twist on the traditional heartfelt tastes of Southern cuisine.  The creations of High Cotton’s Anthony Gray have been featured in the New York Times and Bon Appetit and Alex Castro has transformed Larkin’s on the River into the buzz worthy locale that has attracted professional athletes and movie stars alike.

In the pursuit of culinary excellence, only the highest quality ingredients will do.  Many of these chefs proudly support local farmer and vendors all year round.  Shaun Garcia, the Chef de Cuisine of Soby’s, has taken his commitment to the freshest local ingredients to the next level by establishing Soby’s own farm in Dark Hallow, SC.

All five of our featured chefs share the passion for cooking and the drive to create exciting and inventive dishes that make for one unforgettable dining experience after another.
