South Carolina Festivals and Events

There’s always something to celebrate in South Carolina!

Chitlin' Strut, Salley, SCWe admit it. In South Carolina, we love our festivals. Maybe that’s why every year we host more than 425 festivals across the state and throughout the year. That means there are more South Carolina festivals than there are days in the year – and we’ve got a good excuse for every one of them! They’re a great way to enjoy the authentic sights, sounds, flavors and fun that make our state such a wonderful place to live and visit.

Our food festivals range from McClellanville’s Lowcountry Shrimp Festival to Gaston’s Collard Festival. If you’re of the botanical pursuasion, The Festival of Roses in Orangeburg and the SC Festival of Flowers in Greenwood are just two ways we celebrate just about everything that blooms! History and heritage more your bag? Beaufort’s Gullah Festival is world renowned for it’s authentic music, presentations and crafts. The arts come to life every year at Charleston’s Spoleto Festival USA and Greenville’s Artisphere. And let’s not forget our love of sports, celebrated each year with events like the Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament, Camden’s Carolina and Colonial Cup horse races and NASCAR races at Darlington Raceway.

The festivals and events in South Carolina never seem to end. Stick around long enough, and we might name one after you!
