History:

Surfside was first known as Roach’s Beach, then Flora Beach, but after the land changed ownership in 1952, it was renamed for the final time. The underdeveloped beach was layered with sand dunes, and only one small sandy road led from the highway. This was a quiet beach until development began - now the shores echo with the sounds of families enjoying a fun-filled day on the pet-friendly Surfside Beach.
