Hunter's Store, a general merchandise store built in 1850 has served as the headquarters for Pendleton District’s Regional Tourism Office since 1968, sharing visitor information, maps, and brochures about sites in the old Pendleton District, now known as Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties. The region’s Local and Family History Archives have recently returned to Hunter's Store and are now handicap accessible. The regional tourism office also stewards the South Carolina Century Farm Program and operates the Agricultural Museum of South Carolina, which is currently undergoing restoration and is scheduled to re-open for tours in the Summer of 2013.
