The journey began a decade ago, in the Hawaiian islands and spread across America wherever the desire for multisport adrenaline was found. From the beginning, XTERRA set out to champion human potential. The XTERRA calling is now heard throughout the world and our events circle the globe to challenge the world's spirited athletes.
Clemson is thrilled to welcome the nation's premier off-road Triathlon Series to our city. The event on June 22 will be held at the Issaqueena Boat Ramp and Recreation Area in beautiful Issaqueena Lake and Forest. The one lap 1000-meter swim will be in the stream fed Issaqueena Lake, then the 12-mile mountain bike course will make one loop on some of the best and most challenging trails that Issaqueena Forest has to offer! There will be plenty of single track, twist and turns, climbs and descents, a scenic section overlooking the Six Mile River, and a climb to the highest point in Issaqueena on the Pot Belly Pig Trail. The 4-mile run will begin on the scenic West Lake Trail and will pass by the historic Issaqueena Dam. There will be a section of the loop, a 400-yard Hartwell shoreline run, mimicking the Makena Beach run of the former XTERRA World Championship Course.
