Santee Birding and Nature Festival

2125 Fort Watson RD
Summerton, SC 29148

Description

Every year birders and naturalists flock to Santee and the surrounding areas to take part in one of the only nature festivals in the state of South Carolina. With field trips throughout the midlands of South Carolina, the festival is a great opportunity to spend the day or the whole weekend learning about wonderful natural places and their inhabitants. There is a $25/person registration fee this year. For children under the age of 12, the fee can be waived. Contact Susan Heisey for details. The festival will be centrally located at the Town of Santee Cultural Arts Center, located in the Town Hall Complex. Come here prior to your first trip to pick up your registration packet and your personal itinerary. Most of the field trips will also be meeting up at the Cultural Arts Center to carpool to the trip destination. Conservation exhibits will be on hand throughout the weekend as well. For more information, contact Susan Heisey, Festival Chairperson, at 803-478-2217 or susan_heisey@fws.gov.
