Price House
The Price House, the home of Thomas and Ann Price, was built in 1795. The three-story brick structure with gambrel roof was a stagecoach stop, post office, and general store in the early 1800s. The Prices had no children, and upon the death of Ann in 1821, everything was sold. The 42-page inventory, completed at the time of her death, was used as the guide for refurnishing the house.
The Price's owned more than 25 slaves. A double pen slave cabin explores their lives and the lives of other enslaved men and women in the backcountry
