There’s nothing more patriotic than seeing a line of decorated boats on the creek for the Murrells Inlet Fourth of July parade. This year’s theme is "2011: Ride the Inlet Wave of Freedom". Boat decoration contest entry forms will be available at Garden City Realty, Dunes Realty, Crazy Sister Marina or Booty’s.

Boaters decorate their boats according to the theme and parade around the inlet starting at 1 p.m. at high tide. Best spots to view the parade: Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, Captain Dick’s Marina, Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, Nance’s Restaurant and Hot Fish Club. Register at Captain Dick’s Marina, Booty’s and Garden City Realty. Fireworks in the Inlet begin at 10 p.m. The display can be seen from all vantage points on the inlet shores.
