Folly Beach is a barrier island, six miles long and the closest beach to historic Charleston, which is 15 minutes via the Connector. Sea, sand and surfing offer opportunities for lots of water based activities, and historical and cultural sites abound. The island offers a maritime forest, historic Morris Island Lighthouse (c. 1876), endangered species of birds and lot of Southern hospitality.
