Come experience the historic charm of South Carolina's oldest inland city, and spread some Christmas cheer to needy children in Kershaw County! The 37th Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes will be held Saturday, December 7th, 2013 from 3-8pm. This year's tour begins at the Camden Archives Museum and continues through some of the most elegant private residences in the city, all decorated for the holiday season. The Tour is one of the main fund raising initiatives of The Camden Junior Welfare League. Founded in 1928, The League is an organization of women dedicated to improving the lives of children in the Kershaw County area. Over the years, The League has served the community by providing aid in the form of eyeglasses, medication, warm winter coats, shoes, and counseling services to children in need, volunteering with the Fine Arts Center and the Department of Social Services, as well as awarding scholarships and grants to worthy children's charities in the area. The tour and the impact it has on the community is a beautiful tradition that is only still alive in small towns like Camden. Join us in the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season in the Midlands! Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 on the day of the tour. Advanced group rates are available.
