Hampton Plantation is an eighteenth to nineteenth-century rice plantation located in the Santee River area 45 miles north of Charleston. Archaeologists are focusing current efforts on the brick foundation of a possible slave house.
Volunteers will partipate in excavation, screening, and artifact washing. You are welcome to participate in the excavation for a day or two or even the whole week if you have the time.
This program will prove to be a great experience and an opportunity to make new friends with similar interests or do something completely different with your old friends!
