A Tour of the Tabby: A Closer Look At Dorchester’s Fort

Description

Join a site expert and explore the areas of the park including the tabby ruins of a fort that dates back to 1757. Along the way, you will see how archaeological and historical information is gathered and used to interpret an historic site. Participants will get to handle special historic artifacts that offer insight into the daily lives of the inhabitants of the colonial village of Dorchester. We will also discuss preservation activities and methods that we use to help preserve the artifacts discovered at this site and how we use these important objects to get a better understanding of the town's story.
