Popular Music of the Civil War

Description

Music of the mid 1800s contributed greatly to later forms of American music. Join us in the ballroom at Rose Hill's mansion as we examine the tunes that served as a background to the Civil War. Accomplished performer, Dr. Brennan Szafron, organist and choir-master of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Spartanburg, will take us on a melodic journey to examine how music kept spirits high during dark times. Light refreshments will be available during intermission. Reservations are required as seating is limited.
