Admission to the park is free on this day of celebration, hosted by Paris Mountain State Park friends and the state park staff. Enjoy children's activities, educational programs, free boat rides, music, food, and fun as a thank you to the community. Event lasts from 11 am till 4 pm.

Jones Gap and Caesars Head state parks together form the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, 11,000 acres of pristine mountain woodlands on the Blue Ridge Escarpment.

Jones Gap highlights include the Middle Saluda River, the state’s first designated scenic river. Besides trout fishing, the river serves as a living lab for the park’s busy learning center, providing hands-on ecology lessons for young and old alike.

The park also includes restored portions of the old Cleveland Fish Hatchery, offers trailside camping and serves as an access point to the 76-mile Foothills Trail.

To celebrate the peak bloom of the rare Rocky Shoals Spider Lily, Landsford Canal State Park and the Katawba Valley Land Trust invite you to an afternoon full of music and activities as you experience the breathtaking beauty of the Rocky Shoals Spider Lily. A short walk (3/4 mile one way) down our historic Canal Trail takes you to the overlook where you are in the midst of a true wonder of nature. This is the largest population of spider lilies in the world and they cover this area of the Catawba River in a blanket of white! Back at the main area, musical groups play on the porch of the historical log house while other activities are available to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Drinks and snacks will be available.

Noted for its excellent playing conditions year round. Wide fairways make it an enjoyable experience for the average golfer, but it is a great challenge for the low handicaps as well. Possum Trot also offers a unique practice facility and driving range complete with chipping, pitching and putting greens, practice bunker, golf schools and lessons available.
