One of the course's outstanding features are its consistent greens. The course's signature hole is #14, a 313-yard, par 4, featuring the famous Pete Dye railroad ties bordering a lake which is alongside a well-bunkered green. The hole has many mounds that can cause uneven lies. Northwoods offers full-service bar and grill, full pro shop services, group and individual lessons and lighted driving range and putting green.

Enjoy masterpieces from the kitchen of South Carolina's only Mobil Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond dining room. A five-course tasting menu is offered nightly featuring eclectic preparations with pairings from the extensive wine list. Menus change daily at the Dining Room, to incorporate the freshest ingredients gathered from private gardeners, day-boat fishermen and farmers. In addition to offering five- or seven-course tasting menus, Executive Chef Nathan Whiting also prepares nightly a la carte selections which are divided into five different sections: Preludes, The Fields & Vegetable Gardens, From Day Boats & Fishermen, All Natural Farms, and Artisanal Cheeses.
In 2002, The Dining Room at Woodlands was named one of the top three restaurants in North America. The restaurant is located at Woodlands Resort & Inn, a restored 1906 revival home. Travel + Leisure Magazine has named Woodlands Resort and Inn the number two hotel in the Continental US and Canada and number 27 Worldwide.

Built on the site of an old indigo and rice plantation, True Blue features uncommon natural elevations and naturally rugged terrain. The rough, sandy areas have been retained and provide striking contrast to the immaculate greens, tees and fairways. The elevations also make True Blue unique. On the Par 3, 14th, the tee box is nearly fifty feet above the green which is artfully placed between the perils of a huge waste area and a disastrous "pot" bunker. While hitting down to a green on a Par 3 in the Myrtle Beach area, is very unique, it is the raw beauty of this hole that sets it apart.
