An oceanfront classic, the Robert Trent Jones course was the first in Palmetto Dunes, and it remains one of the resort's most popular courses with visitors and residents alike. The wide-open fairways and ample greens make the Jones course a pleasure to play. The natural beauty and challenge of the course are highlighted by Palmetto Dunes' unique winding lagoon system, which comes into play on 11 of the 18 holes. The holes set somewhat shorter on the homeward stretch, but keeping the ball dry on the way back to the clubhouse can be a challenge. The course's signature hole is the par-5 10th, which plays into the ocean breezes and provides a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. When the wind is up, getting home in regulation here is extremely difficult.
