A favorite of golfers to the Hilton Head area, Old South features towering live oaks, rolling Scottish terrain and magnificent views from island greens. Designed by award winning course architect Clyde Johnston, Old South is a tribute to man working within nature’s fragile guidelines. Not only did Johnston preserve the natural beauty of the land, his design allows golfers to experience up close the uniqueness of the site, it’s natural amenities and spectacular views. Best Hole: No. 7, a 370-yard par-4 that plays to an island fairway, then to an island green, narrow and undulating, guarded by bunkers in front and in back.

An oceanfront classic, the Robert Trent Jones course was the first in Palmetto Dunes, and it remains one of the resort's most popular courses with visitors and residents alike. The wide-open fairways and ample greens make the Jones course a pleasure to play. The natural beauty and challenge of the course are highlighted by Palmetto Dunes' unique winding lagoon system, which comes into play on 11 of the 18 holes. The holes set somewhat shorter on the homeward stretch, but keeping the ball dry on the way back to the clubhouse can be a challenge. The course's signature hole is the par-5 10th, which plays into the ocean breezes and provides a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. When the wind is up, getting home in regulation here is extremely difficult.
