Close out the summer in Myrtle Beach during the Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival. Smoke on the Beach will again be part of the annual festival held each Labor Day weekend. The festival will take place at the former air force base facilities, known as Valor Park.
The Beach, Boogie & BBQ Competition has been proclaimed the official barbecue competition of South Carolina. The festival will feature family–friendly entertainment and events, samples from local and regional barbecue teams, live entertainment, kids zone, wake board demonstrations, beer gardens, many food and arts & crafts vendors, fireworks finale on Sunday evening and so much more!
Of course, the main attraction is the finger-lickin, lip-smackin' good food and lots of it from food vendors and competitors. Attendees can sample delicious barbeque from all competing teams on Saturday beginning at noon by purchasing a $10 wristband. Kids 10 and under can sample for free. On Sunday attendees can enjoy a wide variety of wings and look on as hungry competitors challenge each other in a wing 'eat-off'. Kids will do the same in a watermelon eating contest that follows. Lots of great prizes await the winners, as well as free watermelon for all attendees at 2 p.m.
