Shrieks of excitement coming from pulsing neon lights on things that go round and round and upside down into the night are usually some of the sights and sounds of fall as county fairs and festivals are in full swing. But they are also on the way this spring...to the Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation...and for the first time ever at this event...in PRIME TIME.
The festival has always been a spring favorite for families who enjoy the combination of these delightful berries and wholesome fun on the farm. That has always been the main focus of this event and will always be.
The 2013 Lowcountry Strawberry Festival has been expanded to be presented over four days including being open at night for the first time in addition to the normal daytime schedule. Expect more than 30 attractions and spectacular rides geared for the thrill seeker will be part of the mix as well as a number of fun rides for families and children.
The event will also feature pig races, magic shows, vendors, a variety of festival type foods, and of course, U-pick strawberries during event daytime hours. The festival is being presented in cooperation with the South Carolina Dept. Of Agriculture’s Certified SC Grown program and the town of Mt. Pleasant.
