Greenwood

This area was first settled by Irishmen John Blake and Thomas Weir in 1802. In 1824, Judge John McGeehee brought his bride here from Ninety Six and named his plantation Greenwood for its beautiful rolling hills and tall green forests. Today it is the home of Lander University.
