Tucked away in the historic French Quarter is a pre- Revolutionary Georgian-style single house which was the home of Thomas Elfe, one of Charleston's most prolific and acclaimed cabinet makers. The china cabinets and closets are artfully worked into each chimney alcove. The private home also is a showplace for 18th- and 19th-century furnishings. Behind this masterfully crafted historic home is yet another treasure, a beautifully tailored Southern garden bordered by historic brick walls and shaded by an ancient Live Oak tree.
