Hunting Island and the Friends of Hunting Island are hosting the annual 5K Run/Walk at our beautiful state park. The race and walk begin and end at the Nature Center near the Fripp Island Bridge. This race is designed for all runners and is a flat, wide course through our unique maritime forest, away from all traffic. The trails are packed shell-sand surface with level, gentle curves in this nice shady forest. We have Play Hard Timing handling the event and this race will be an opportunity for serious runners to attain a personal best time. Walkers can push a stroller, but no pets please. Prizes are awarded to the winner in each division. Profits from this event will go to support the Discover Carolina program that brings elementary school children to the park for nature programs.
