Staff, volunteers and members of the Independent Company of South Carolina will bring Dorchester’s rich history back to life at this living history event. Visitors can interact with over 50 authentically clothed, historic interpreters as they demonstrate daily tasks and skills, such as cooking, blacksmithing, medical practices, military drill, and musket firing, common to the American colonial period, as well as an 18th-century Cherokee Indian encampment.
Due to nature of the event, we recommend leaving pets at home. Demonstrations and activities will be offered throughout the day, so pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!
