Take a trip to the Midlands and experience the best that the Palmetto State has to offer. Columbia, the state capital and largest city in South Carolina, has everything from outdoor adventures and beautiful sights to historical landmarks like the South Carolina State Museum.

If you're looking to connect with the great outdoors, try kayaking down the Saluda River through miles of unspoiled riverbanks and wildlife, or take a boat ride on beautiful Lake Murray. The Midlands also is the perfect place to tee off with a variety of high-end golf courses overlooking beautiful rolling hills. And it's easy to satisfy your appetite after an adventure, as the Midlands is home wonderful restaurants, including some of the best barbecue joints in the state.

Venture a bit further off the beaten path to discover the hidden treasures of the Midlands, like the town of Aiken, a proud community that is best known as horse country. Then there's the beautiful town of Camden, which hosts reenactments that allow visitors to take a step back in time at the site of a great Revolutionary War battle. The city of Rock Hill, home to the state's only cycling velodrome, is becoming known as a destination for outdoor sports. Wherever you end up in the Midlands of South Carolina, there's always something new to discover.
