Farms, Festivals and Fun --Springing into South Carolina's Growing Season
Posted 4/10/2010 7:14:00 PM
After an unusually cold South Carolina winter, it’s finally time to shed the extra layers and head outside to enjoy spring’s splendor. If you’re an agricultural enthusiast, the Palmetto State’s spring farm festivals might offer just the celebration you’re looking for.
Ag-Cited, a new project of the Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau, is a highlight of this year’s farm festival season. The initiative is designed to promote the Pee Dee’s agricultural heritage through a series of family-friendly events that include tobacco greenhouse tours, planting demonstrations, flower and fruit festivals and wine tastings. Ag-Cited launched on March 20 and will run through May 22.
For a complete listing of Ag-Cited events, see www.visitflo.com or call (843) 664-0330. For information on other spring festivals planned across the state, check out
