A visit to the Children’s Garden Christmas and Kid’s Walk at
Orangeburg’s Edisto Memorial Gardens is a must-do during the holidays. This year’s light display is as spectacular as ever.
You won’t be disappointed by The Children’s Garden Christmas. The drive-through display showcases thousands of lights that include a variety of still and animated displays such as old man winter, a river boat, Santa and his elves, a nativity scene, and more than 60 lighted cherry trees.
During our annual family visit to the Edisto Gardens this year, we enjoyed the driving tour but had the most fun when we got out the car and took the Kid’s Walk. The little ones in our family lit up with excitement when they saw the lighted hopping bunnies or squirrels scaling a tree. There are dozens of other cool displays like the 12-days of Christmas, an elf band and marching soldiers. And of course, no holiday celebration of lights would be complete without Jolly Old Saint Nick. Kids delight in the Santa’s workshop display, the lighted sleeping Santa and of course the live- and- in person Santa who comes to town on Friday’s and Saturdays.
You can drive through The Children’s Garden Christmas from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Kids Walk is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Both displays are open seven days a week. Call (803) 533-6020 for more information.
