Catch a caboose during Steam Train Days

South Carolina has a rich railroad history. If you’d like to experience a bit of the bygone era, grab the kids and hop a caboose during the 2010 Steam Train Days being hosted by the South Carolina Railroad Museum
The coal-fired Flag Coal Company No. 75 steam engine will take passengers on a 10-mile, 1 hour ride on the rails of the Rockton Rion and Western Railroad near Winnsboro
. The train rides will run this fall from Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24. The train departs at 10 a.m.,1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for children. Reservations are recommended.
