About Me

Page Ivey was born in Florence, S.C., and spent her whole life in one house and at one school before moving to Columbia and the University of South Carolina.

After earning a journalism degree, Page went to work as a business reporter for The State newspaper and served in several editing roles over the next 11 years before moving to The Associated Press.

After a dozen years as a newswoman for The AP, Page wrote a travel book, “Explorer’s Guide: South Carolina” and decided to return to USC. She writes stories for the school’s website that honor the individuals who work, study and teach at the university she loves.

What she enjoys most, though, is writing about the people and places of South Carolina, sharing her love of the state with all its nooks and crannies that some folks might miss as they speed down the interstates.
