Over the past two decades, South Carolina has become one of the most popular retirement destinations in the country. From the beautiful mountains in the Upstate to the lakefront communities and famous coastal destinations, the entire state has welcomed new residents from all over the country. In addition to the great climate, these retirees have consistently cited the quality and variety of golf available in the state as a major factor in their retirement decision.

Golfweek certainly agrees.

In their recent rankings of the best Residential Golf Courses in the country, Golfweek included six South Carolina golf courses in their Top 100. They included:

Long Cove Club — Hilton Head Island; designed by Pete Dye.

Kiawah Island Cassique Course — Kiawah Island; designed by Tom Watson.

Spring Island Old Tabby Links Course — Okatie; designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay.

Golf Club at Briar’s Creek — John’s Island; designed by Rees Jones.

Kiawah Island River Course — Kiawah Island; designed by Tom Fazio.

Colleton River Plantation — Bluffton; designed by Jack Nicklaus.
