Juniors welcome: Hidden Valley hosting six weeks of free golf clinics

Golf is called “the lifetime sport” because it can be played by all ages, but as with most sports, the earlier a person starts, the better he or she is likely to become. Thus, learning the right way to play golf at a young age can mean the difference between kids giving up in frustration or playing – and playing well – for decades.
Hidden Valley Golf Club’s
Brad Frick subscribes to the theory that better players are happier and more frequent players – one reason why the teaching professional is offering six weeks (April 18-May 23) of free golf clinics for the first 15 youngsters who sign up. All registrations are due by April 16.
Frick will work each Thursday during that time with kids ages 9-12 from 5 p.m.-5:55 p.m. and, after a short break, ages 13-17 from 6 p.m.-6:55 p.m. The lessons will teach juniors everything from basics to specific skills.
Instruction is offered by P.A.R. Tee Junior Golf School, which teaches principles of Perseverance, Accountability and Respect. For parents, it’s usually a much better option than, oh, trying to teach their youngsters by themselves.
Hidden Valley is located at 147 Excalibur Court in Gaston
, roughly 20 minutes from Columbia
via U.S. 321. To register for the free lessons, call the club at (803) 799-8087, or download a registration form here
