To watch the best professional golfers in the world, fans flock to watch the PGA Tour, which annually includes a stop in South Carolina at the
RBC Heritage, a
Hilton Head Island tradition since 1969. The Heritage returns to
Harbour Town Golf Links the week of April 15-21, right after The Masters concludes in neighboring Augusta, Ga.
If PGA Tour prices are too rich for your blood, though – or if you want to watch the Tour stars of tomorrow on a low-key stage where getting up close and personal is never an issue – then the developmental
Web.com Tour (formerly the Nationwide Tour) is just your (less expensive) ticket.
Twice in 2013, visitors to South Carolina and state residents will have opportunities to follow the game’s young up-and-comers battling with all the intensity (and the same skills) of the PGA Tour.
The
BMW Charity Pro-Am Presented by Synex Corporation, itself a tradition since 2001, returns to the
Upstate the week of May 13-19, with players competing at three courses in
Greenville and the surrounding area. Thornblade Club, a long-time host for the BMW, will be joined this spring by
Greenville Country Club’s Chanticleer Course and
The Reserve at Lake Keowee, located roughly 45 minutes west of Greenville in Sunset.
All players will play at each course during their first three rounds, with
Thornblade staging Sunday’s final round.
In September, the second annual Chiquita Classic comes to Weddington, N.C., a suburb of Charlotte and just north of
Rock Hill. The dates are Sept. 5-8 and the host course will be determined at a later date.
