Charleston, golf and a water view: Patriots Point offers fall deals

Posted 11/10/2012 8:55:00 AM

Most visitors to Charleston come for one (or more) of three things: the Port City itself with its antebellum homes, cobblestone streets and great restaurants; great golf at more than a dozen courses; and views of the mighty Atlantic Ocean.

All three rolled into one package – and with a view of the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown to boot? That’s a hard deal to top.

Patriots Point Golf Links, located in Mount Pleasant adjacent to the Yorktown’s mooring, and The Cottages on Charleston Harbor are teaming up with a “Patriots Point Golf Package for Fall 2012” that offers “luxury waterfront accommodations” across the harbor from downtown Charleston, and golf at Patriots Point, which several of its holes sited along the harbor as well.

The deal, starting at $209 per person per night, includes 18 holes per person per day, continental breakfast, “grab & go” lunch daily, plus a sleeve of balls, unlimited range balls and bottled water each day. If you feel the need for an “emergency 18,” additional rounds are $30 per person, including cart. The course has a lighted driving range, clubhouse, grill and patio.

Then there are the Cottages, less than a minute from the course: 10 one- or two-bedroom units strung along the north shore of the harbor, close to the beach, with sweeping views of Charleston, historic Fort Sumter and Sullivan’s Island. Also included are a harbor-front swimming pool, private beach and bicycles for exploring. For history buffs, the Naval and Maritime Museum is nearby as are Charleston Harbor Marina and, of course, the USS Yorktown.

The Fall Package runs through Dec. 22. For further information or to book a package, call The Cottages at (866) 901-2688 or go to www.thecottagesoncharlestonharbor.com or www.patriotspointlinks.com.
