Chocolate Moose brings cupcakes and more to downtown Greenville

Something sweet came to
Greenville’s Main Street earlier this year.
The Chocolate Moose offers cupcakes, with nine flavors baked fresh each day. That isn’t surprising if you know that the Chocolate Moose is the
upstate sister to
Cupcake, with stores in
Columbia,
Charleston and Mount Pleasant. All are owned by Kristin Kuhlke Cobb.
But the Chocolate Moose cooks up more than cupcakes, including breakfast items and other desserts. There are muffins, hash brown balls and yogurt parfaits in the mornings.
One special dessert is Tira-Moose Sue. (Moose Sue is sort of a mascot of the Chocolate Moose. She’s said to be a flamboyant mouse who wears pink lipstick, drives a pink car, and she created the Chocolate Moose’s version of tiramisu. Get it?)
Caramel banana pudding, Key lime pie, creamsicle mousse and chocolate moose pie are among the tasty treats available.
Specials are added regularly and are listed on
Chocolate Moose’s Facebook and
Twitter pages.
Kensey Morris is general manager of the bakery, which opened in the spring on North Main, across from the
Mast General Store. The building is inviting, with brick walls and wooden floors, a comfy seating area with a leather couch and chairs, and brightly colored, checkerboard-design tables with chairs. Outside, there are a few red bistro tables and chairs.
