Race car driver-wine maker teaming up with Soby’s

Soby’s in Greenville is presenting a five-course wine dinner Friday, Jan. 24, showcasing Lewis Cellars, a winery established by a former race car driver.

Randy Lewis and his wife, Debbie, began their Lewis Cellars winery in Napa Valley in 1992, after his racing career. He was a professional race car driver for 23 years, including Formula Three in Europe, Formula 5000, Can Am, and Indy Cars.

Here’s the delicious menu that Chef Shaun Garcia of Soby’s and Chef Rodney Freidank of Table 301 have come up with: Lobster- Rich Man/Poor Man (Maine lobster and monkfish in red curry lobster broth); duck breast with yams and Brussels sprouts; braised bison short rib with risotto; seared carpaccio of Strube Ranch Wagyu beef; and desserts and hot cocoa.

The wine dinner is $125 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
