Vista Marketplace Farmer’s Market in Columbia has a new location. Since early December, it’s been open at 701 Whaley Street 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

You probably remember that location as the home of the All Local Farmers Market at 701 Whaley Street, which took on a new name, Soda City Market, when it moved to Main Street in October

Liz McCullar, organizer of Vista Marketplace, said Millwood Coffee Company serves brunch and coffee each Saturday, and lots of folks enjoy eating and gathering on the porch of 701 Whaley Street.

Vista Marketplace also lets shoppers go online to choose the produce they’d like. Then either McCullar delivers the orders or shoppers can pick them up at the market on Saturday morning.

Among the vendors who have been at the Saturday market are Floral and Hardy, with cut flowers and wreaths; Butter Patch Jerseys of Saluda, with beef, pork and raw milk; The Complete Gourmet, which sells baked goods and offers private chef services; Hanna Hands Farm of Ridgeway; and Sea Eagle Seafood of Beaufort. Other vendors sell quilted goods, soaps, jewelry and pottery.

McCullar also sell products at the market and through the online site. Her company, Gifts to Go, makes gourmet mixes, dips and spreads. She also makes tomato pies and chicken pot pies.

Everything at the market is South Carolina made or grown, McCullar said.

Last summer, Vista Marketplace was setting up outside the Blue Marlin restaurant on Wednesdays.

Soda City is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays in the 1500 block of Main Street.

And of course, the S.C. State Farmers Market in West Columbia is open every day.
