Eleven days to get bargains at restaurants across the state

Sometimes we have to watch our budgets in January, so Restaurant Week South Carolina comes at a perfect time. This year, it’s Jan. 10-20, and that gives you 11 days to return to your favorite restaurant or try a new one for a bargain price.

So far, about 100 restaurants are listed on the website, and some already have a special Restaurant Week special menu posted. For example, Gervais & Vine in Columbia is offering a three-course meal for two, and the price is $29 per couple. Choices for the main course are South Carolina shrimp and grits; duck confit served with Adluh stone ground grits; or a grilled strip with smoked gouda. All three entrees are served with a Lexington County greens.

All types of restaurants, from hamburger spots to fine dining restaurants, are offering specials for the week.
The website lets you search by region, city or by type of cuisine. It also provides links to Facebook pages for the state’s five largest cities: Restaurant Week Columbia, Restaurant Week Charleston, Restaurant Week Greenville, Restaurant Week Hilton Head and Restaurant Week Myrtle Beach

This is the fifth year for the statewide Restaurant Week, which is sponsored by the S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association and regional partners.

Diners get a great deal, and the restaurant industry gets a boost during what is traditionally a slow sales period. There are no tickets to buy, but you should make a reservation to ensure you get a table at your choice of restaurants.
