Chef Lata feeds Hollywood royalty at wedding

Have you heard who catered dinner for the wedding of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds?

It was Chef Mike Lata of FIG in Charleston. At least that’s the word from People magazine
The Green Lantern co-stars married Sept. 9 at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant.

While the lid has been kept tight on many details, Charleston wedding planner Tara Guerard of Charleston planned the event.

Lata, the 2009 James Beard Best Chef: Southeast award winner, is also involved in getting a new restaurant open. He and partner Adam Nemirow are opening The Ordinary, which they call a classic oyster bar and seafood hall, in an old bank building on King Street.

The two opened FIG in 2003. The Ordinary is expected to open in December or January.

People gave no details about what Lata served at the wedding, but Bon Appetit magazine said: “Knowing how good Lata's food is, we wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the guests were more emotional at the reception dinner than during the actual services.” In a recent issue, the magazine raved over Lata’s chicken and dumplings with ricotta gnocchi
