Play ball!

Posted 8/2/2013 7:37:00 PM

The Columbia Blowfish are inviting kids down onto the field to play catch with members of the team before its game against the Edenton Steamers Saturday (Aug. 3.)

The Blowfish are part of the Coastal Plain League League, a summer league for elite college baseball players. Many of these players go on to play professional baseball. In fact, this year, 77 current players and league alums were chosen during the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. So your kids could actually end up playing catch with a future Major League Baseball player!

The game starts at 7:05 p.m., and gates open at 6 p.m. Kids are invited to play catch from 6:10 to 6:30.

So bring your mitt and ball and get ready to play catch with some baseball stars of tomorrow.

The Blowfish play at the Capital City Stadium, 301, South Assembly St, Columbia. Tickets are $7 for field level box seats, $6 for adults, and $5 for childcare and seniors.
