Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art adds to the perfection of the beach

Visiting Pawleys Island or Litchfield Beach in the next two weeks? Lucky! You’ve chosen the perfect time! The days are pleasantly warm, the nights are just cool enough to remind you that it’s fall, and there is music in the air… literally.

The Pawleys Island Festival of Music of Art opened this past weekend and runs through Oct. 12, making for two weeks of music, art, wine, food and more.

There is very little that can improve upon the perfection that is the relaxing of shoulder muscles once a person sets foot on the South Carolina coast, but this festival is one of the few. Visitors have their choice of musical entertainment, with performances lined up from Mac Arnold and Plate Full O’Blues, operatic quartet Vivace, American Idol contestant Elise Testone, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, and more.

Let’s face it, a big part of beach vacationing is the food and wine. Luckily, the festival also includes a wine gala, where guests can sample nearly 70 wines from renowned vineyards around the world and enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres. The evening will also include a three hour dessert tasting, a silent auction full of wonderful trips, live entertainment and a complimentary wine glass. The wines that are sampled will be available for purchase at prices below retail prices and, so you don’t have to worry about losing your beachy vibe with a ballgown, the requested attire is “casual cocktail.” It’s Friday, Oct. 4, and for $100 per ticket, this will be quite an evening.
