About Me

Shani Gilchrist has lived in South Carolina since 1989. After a childhood filled with horses, books and her parents’ interesting friends, she went on to become a freelance writer and lifestyle blogger, having interviewed and profiled some of the best creative minds in the arts and design.

Shani studied writing at the S.C. Governor’s School for the Arts, Marquette University and, after determining that her blood was no longer thick enough for Wisconsin winters, the University of South Carolina. She also writes a popular arts and design blog.

Shani currently lives in Columbia with her husband and two sons. On weekends they can be found chasing the children around the local lakes, stomping around their “gardens” in muck-and-algae-covered boots or visiting arts events of all kinds.
